I had hip replacement surgery eight weeks ago performed by Mr Carrothers. Having been in pain for years I was searching for a surgeon who I felt I could trust, Andrew Carrothers was recommended by a friend. Right from the start, when I spoke to Carol his secretary, she put my mind at rest. Mr Carrothers was professional, kind and understanding, he allayed my concerns and explained the surgery clearly. The surgery has exceeded my expectations, I am now free of pain can walk and move with ease. I was off the crutches in four weeks, was back working on my allotment within a few weeks, in fact I went for a walk around Wicken Fen on the way home from my six week post op appointment. I can dance, jump around, walk miles and more than anything feel like I have got my life back. I would certainly recommend Mr Carrothers and his team for excellent care. Thank you for the care Kathryn.

Had a second operation to remove a broken screw from my left leg and I was in the care of Mr Carrothers for this and from the first consultation up until and after the operation Mr Carrothers made me feel totally at ease with everything and he changed my life by removing the pain I was living with at home and at my work so I very highly recommend Mr Carrothers to any of my friends and family.

When asked what my aims were after my hip replacement, I remember saying that I wanted to walk upright for my eightieth birthday which was fast approaching. I was fed up with looking like the the road traffic sign of the couple crossing the road. Mr. Carrothers assured me that this was possible . Here I am a few weeks further on and I am walking tall again. He always made me feel at ease , that he was really listening to me and from remarks made around the Hospital he is a much respected and admired figure in their midst . I really look forward to seeing him again in a years time.

I was initially apprehensive about knee replacement surgery. I was referred to Mr Carrothers clinic at Addenbrookes and xrays showed a knee replacement was necessary. My left knee replaced in 2015 and I my right knee has been replaced June 2021 the entire procedure was less painful then expected. Recovery was good in both cases. Mr Carrothers was my consultant in both operations and I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone requiring this procedure, he is very approachable and easy to communicate with. I have excellent results from the replacements.
